that you must tape up the lights so that in the event of an accident the tape holds the glass together, preventing shards from going all over the track causing punctures.I know, I don't get it either, could have sworn my windows were made out of glass too. According to the Cams rule book (our motorsport governing body in Aus) with the exception of road registered cars, the windows must also have a protective film, which is fair enough. But then why is it ok for road registered cars like mine to not have film on the windows, yet they still insist on us doing the headlights? I don't get it... has anyone else got a better explanation?
